About Us

Origin Architects is a Bangalore architecture practice founded in 2004. We design buildings for education, healthcare and community institutions: schools, colleges, hospitals and the social infrastructure that trusts and charitable organisations build for the public.

Our work takes inspiration from Indian traditional values and building wisdom. Every project begins with understanding the institution: its people, how they learn, heal or gather, and what they hope the building will become. The result is contemporary architecture that makes the best use of natural light, air and local resources, and is simple to build and maintain.

Origin was founded by Ramaraju G (B.Arch, M.Arch, and a management programme at IIM Bangalore) and Shashidhara Raju G (B.E.). Both grew up around building sites with their father, R Govinda Raju, a highly respected construction professional in Bangalore. That second-generation grounding in how buildings are actually made shapes how we design, and has earned us loyal clients who return to us project after project.
